At Turners Service, we want you to feel confident when buying a battery or accessory from our online store. If something isn’t right, we’ll work with you to sort it out quickly and fairly. This policy covers change-of-mind returns, warranty claims, faulty goods, and items that cannot be returned once used or installed.

1. Change of Mind Returns (30 Days)
If you change your mind about a full-priced item, you may return it within 30 days of the purchase date, provided that:
- The item is unused, uninstalled, and in as-new condition
- All original packaging, labels, manuals, and accessories are included
- The product has not been fitted, activated, charged, or marked in any way
- Proof of purchase is supplied
If these conditions are met, you can choose from:
- An exchange, or
- A store credit/voucher equal to the purchase price
Refunds are not offered for change-of-mind returns.
2. Sale & Clearance Items
Sale and clearance items are final sale unless the product is faulty.
- No change-of-mind returns
- No exchanges or store credit unless required under consumer law
- Faulty sale items will always be assessed and remedied under warranty
3. Items That Cannot Be Returned Once Used
Because of safety, quality, and resale restrictions, we cannot accept returns for:
- Car batteries that have been installed, used, or activated
- Products that show signs of wear, acid exposure, or electrical connection
- Items missing original packaging or components
- Goods damaged through incorrect installation or misuse
Once a battery has been fitted to a vehicle, it is treated as used, and any issues are processed strictly as warranty claims.
4. Special Orders / Custom Orders
Products sourced specifically at your request — such as unusual battery sizes or high-capacity specialist models — are considered special orders.
These are not eligible for cancellation, return, or exchange unless the item is faulty.
Please double-check specifications before confirming your order.
5. How to Return an Item
Follow these steps to ensure your return is processed smoothly:
Step 1 — Contact Us
Email hello@turnersservice.co.nz or call (09) 802 5063 to register your return. We’ll confirm eligibility and provide any instructions.
Step 2 — Package the Item Securely
- Include proof of purchase
- Use the original packaging where possible
- Place boxed items inside a courier satchel or outer carton
- Do not attach labels directly to the product packaging
Items damaged during return transit may not be eligible for store credit.
Step 3 — Send the Return
Ship your item to: 68 Gavin Street, Mount Wellington, Auckland 1060, New Zealand
We recommend tracked, insured shipping.
Turners Service is not responsible for lost or damaged return parcels.
Return Shipping Costs
- Change of mind: Customer pays return shipping
- Faulty goods or incorrect items sent: Turners Service will reimburse reasonable return shipping or issue a prepaid label
6. Faulty Goods, Warranty, and Repairs
If a product is faulty, damaged, or stops performing as expected, we’ll put it right under the Consumer Guarantees Act (NZ) and the manufacturer’s warranty.
What happens when a faulty item is returned
Once received at our facility, we will:
- Inspect and test the product
- If needed, send it to the manufacturer or authorised service agent
- Confirm whether the fault is due to manufacturing error or external factors
If the product is confirmed faulty
We will offer one of:
- A replacement,
- A repair, or
- A refund of the purchase price
Whichever is appropriate based on the fault.
Return shipping for confirmed faulty items is fully covered.
If no manufacturing fault is found
We will contact you to discuss next steps.
The item may be returned to you if the issue was caused by misuse, incorrect installation, or vehicle-related problems (e.g., alternator overcharging, parasitic drain).
7. Timeframes
- Change-of-mind returns are usually processed within 2 business days of arrival
- Faulty returns may take up to 10–14 days if manufacturer assessment is required
- Our returns department operates Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm
8. Other Important Conditions
- We do not accept COD / receiver-pays parcels
- Return shipping fees paid on the original order are non-refundable
- A small restocking fee may apply for returns missing packaging or accessories (change-of-mind only)
- Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act
